Huub Janssen is one of the most influential figures in AI regulation and supervision in Europe. As Chair of the European Working Group of Competent Authorities on AI, he leads regulatory efforts alongside key entities such as ENISA and UNESCO, strengthening AI governance and supervision across the European Union. Additionally, he heads AI Supervision at the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure, driving regulations, supervision policies, and research on the impact of AI on cybersecurity.

In the Netherlands, Janssen chairs the national group of AI supervisors, coordinating more than 20 regulatory bodies to ensure the safe and ethical development of artificial intelligence. His close collaboration with UNESCO, including his role in the AI Without Borders expert group, reinforces his influence in shaping global standards for AI oversight. With a strong background in cybersecurity supervision under the NIS Directive, his forward-thinking vision enables him to anticipate the challenges posed by generative AI, positioning him as a key authority in the ongoing debate on AI regulation and its societal impact.
