Rodrigo Durán is a prominent expert in artificial intelligence with a strong background in economics and public policy. He is a business engineer and holds a Master of Science in Economics and Public Policy from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Latin American AI Index and as Manager at the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (Cenia), where he leads the areas of technology transfer and institutional relations. His work has been key in promoting AI in the region, driving the adoption of emerging technologies and fostering the development of public policies in the sector.

His influence in the AI ecosystem extends to the legislative and international cooperation spheres. He was the president of the talent panel of the Senate of the Republic for the draft AI framework law in Chile, a milestone in the regulation of artificial intelligence in the country. Additionally, he played a key role as co-chair of the AI working group of the CELAC-EU Digital Alliance for Latin America and the Caribbean, contributing to the integration and development of joint strategies between both regions. His leadership and vision have been fundamental in positioning Latin America on the global artificial intelligence map.
